Azra graduated from University of Malaya (UM) with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 2022. During her studies at UM, she cultivated a deep interest in the area of intellectual property and sought to gain experience in the specialized practice of intellectual property law.
She did her attachment at a firm based in Kuala Lumpur where she gained hands-on experience assisting in general civil litigation matters. Shortly after her degree, she commenced her chambering period at Messrs Bustaman. She was then retained as a Legal Associate upon being called to the Bar in 2023.
Azra has experience attending to the prosecution of various intellectual property portfolios, particularly trademarks and industrial designs, where she assists at all stages of prosecution from filing up to registration and maintenance. She is involved in the enforcement of registered IPs, where she conducts research, prepares cause papers and assists lead counsel in various capacities in trademark infringement actions and other matters before the Court.
Apart from that, she assists in advising franchising matters to local and foreign clients. She also handles corporate and commercial matters, including drafting and reviewing agreements for assignments and licensing.
In her free time, Azra delights in watching old movies, listening to podcasts, and going on occasional leisure trips with her family and friends.
